Called to action, Diana knew she was to head to Israel and do whatever she could to be a soldier of service. Retired, never having been out of the country, Diana ignored all cautioned reasoning from others and signed up for the Sar-El Volunteers. As a member of this group, she contributed to the security of the State of Israel by assisting on Israeli Defense Force (IDF) bases in a logistical support role working side by side with Israel’s soldiers. What she learned and experienced there changed her life forever and is to be heeded by all who passively stand by during this conflict.
